LEAD RECREATION SPECIALIST II (Kincaid Park) - Range 8 / AMEA

Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee. This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA. DEPARTMENT:Parks and Recreation HOURS OF WORK:Hours vary; Monday through Sunday; 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. LOCATION:Kincaid Outdoor Center To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.: : High school diploma, GED, or equivalent andone (1)year experience in the program or activity under consideration. Prior experience in the use of recreational equipment is required. All applicants must possess or obtain: American Red Cross First Aid Certification, and American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or equivalent at time of hire. A valid State of Alaska Drivers License with an acceptable driving record at time of hire.: Preference will be given to returning Seasonal Employees who are eligible for Recall, and to any Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees. AMEA employees who are successful in the screening process will be forwarded to the department for consideration prior to any non-AMEA applicants. If selected for hire, the applicant must be capable of frequently bending, twisting, and kneeling. Applicant must be able tolift and carry items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and work outdoors in inclement weather. If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon satisfactory completion of a national criminal background investigation (AS 12.62.160) and (AS 12.62.400). Accordingly it will be necessary for the selected applicant to provide certain identification information and be fingerprinted. Fingerprint cards must be dated within 30 days from date requested. The processing fee of $47.00 plus the cost of being fingerprinted (variable), is the responsibility of the selected applicant and must be accomplished before beginning work.
