SUMMARY:
The Educational Audiologist supports students ages birth-21 throughout Chester County, addressing hearing and auditory access needs across educational settings. This role plays a vital part in supporting access to instruction through identification, equipment management, consultation, and environmental modifications.
CURRENT NEED:
We are seeking an Educational Audiologist to work per diem or up to a full-time schedule across Chester County, PA
The rate for an Educational Audiologist is $75 per hour
RESPONSIBITLITIES:
Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations with a focus on hearing functioning
Conduct and interpret functional hearing and audiological assessments
Analyze hearing and auditory processing data to support eligibility and educational planning
Interpret audiometric findings for school teams and families
Recommend, fit, and support the use of hearing assistive technology (e.g., FMDM systems, soundfield systems)
Train school teams and students in the use, care, and troubleshooting of hearing devices
Monitor classroom acoustics and make environmental recommendations to optimize auditory access
Provide training to staff and families regarding hearing loss and its impact on learning
Maintain and manage amplification and assistive listening equipment
Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, SLPs, and other team members to support student success
Support hearing conservation programming and screening initiatives
Stay current on federalstate regulations and best practices in educational audiology
Serve as a liaison between educational teams and outside medical providers when needed
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.)
PA State Licensure in Audiology
CCC-A certification through ASHA
Experience supporting students with hearing loss in educational settings preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong collaboration, consultation, and organizational skills
CREDENTIALS:
(Clearances current within 12 months)
PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
PA Department of EducationFBI - Use code1KG6XN
TB Screening (current within 3 months)
Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
Active PA State Licensure in Audiology
Active CCC-A certification through ASHA
Professional Liability Insurance
