General Statement of Responsibilities:
The Psychotherapist provides psychotherapy and chemical dependency services to the eligible clientele of the Boynton Mental Health Clinic. This role serves as a Consultant for Boynton Health staff and for the faculty and staff of the University.
The Psychotherapist must abide by the by-laws of Boynton Health and policies or regulations as established by the Medical staff, the Regents of the University of Minnesota and the laws of the State of Minnesota.
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
- Provide psychotherapy (telehealth / in-person) to individuals, families, and groups. Provide services to patients from diverse backgrounds dealing with a wide range of mental health conditions: depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use problems, and others.
- Develop individual treatment plans to meet the medical necessity of Boynton Health clients.
- Offer services through a trauma-informed care lens, respecting the cultural and diverse needs of Boynton Health clients.
- Provide mental health consultation and training to the University Community as needed.
- Conduct screening assessments and diagnostic interviews and obtain mental health and medical records as needed
- Attend Boynton Health meetings and other meetings as assigned by the appropriate supervisor.
- Assess, educate, and refer Boynton Health patients to services to meet their psychosocial goals and address social determinants of health needs.
- Participate in Boynton and University-wide committees as the appropriate University Administrator assigns.
- Supervise and/or participate in training programs for medical, psychiatric, and/or social work practicum students.
- Attend continuing education programs and/or participate in the same as needed to remain up-to-date and contribute to the field of mental health and as required to maintain credentials.
- Document and maintain records in compliance with state and federal requirements, Boynton Health policy, and professional ethics standards. Maintain productivity requirements.
Required Qualifications:
a Master's degree: LPC or MFT credentials
a Demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture that respects and advances diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher with at least two (2) years supervised practice in a mental health facility.
- Familiarity with the University of Minnesota and community resources and procedures.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
