SUMMARY OF JOB Supervise day-to-day programming needs of the Senior Living Recreational Therapy Department for St. Joseph Manor and/or Lafayette Redeemer. Supervise departmental duties and programs, assist Recreation staff with program development, planning and facilitation as needed, and ensure calendars are produced timely according to departmental policies and procedures. Support and promote new and creative programs that facilitates resident strengths and abilities, capacity for social contribution, unique values, preferences, living habits and autonomy of choice. Embraces a vision of aging that is meaningful and relationship based. Must have the ability to manage time well, coordinate programs and calendars, direct recreation staff and communicate well with other departments and vendors to insure successful programming for special events. RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy CTRS Certified Two years' experience in Recreation Therapy preferably with adult/geriatric population Ability to implement and coordinate new programs and services Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively Working knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements in regards to skilled nursing and personal care regulations LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS National Certification verified through National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Redeemer Health is an equal opportunity employer.
