Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for performing, measuring, and assessing acoustic emissions and other auditory response procedures on patients. The position supports the hospital program of Universal Newborn Hearing Screening. There is an expectation that an employee in this position may be requested to work at care sites other than their home care site.Responsibilities And Duties:
Direct Patient Care 90-100%1. Performs diagnostic tests and other acoustic emissions, auditory brainstem response assessments, conventional audiometry.
2. Documents test results for medical record keeping.
3. Responsible for maintaining/meeting the productivity expectation of the department.
Plans and helps coordinates discharge plan with multidisciplinary team:
1. Instructs patient and caregiver/family.
2. Provides information to physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, and other team members.
3. Involved in the multidisciplinary patient plan of care and discharge readiness plan..
Indirect Patient Care 1 - 10%
Department Functions:
1. Is involved in department quality improvement through data collection and participation in team and staff meetings.
2. Assumes duties delegated by management in the absence of department management, as needed.
3. There is an expectation that an employee in this position may be requested to work at care sites other than their home care site.
Education/Mentoring:
1. Takes active role in orienting new staff members.
2. Serves as an advocate for the discipline on the multidisciplinary team.
3. Represents department at problem-solving and committee meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree (Required)LIC - Licensed in Field - State of OhioAdditional Job Description:
Speech and Hearing science with an emphasis in Audiology; Current License in good standing with the Ohio Board of speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Completion of audiology internship; Basic computer skills; Understanding of how to interpret test results. 1-2 yrs. related ExperienceWork Shift:
