Expected pay for this position is $39.13 - $46.03/hour . Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.

St. Francis Medical Center is a level 1 trauma center and certified Stroke Center. Our SLP team helps manage the patient needs throughout our 650+ bed adult hospital and cover all floors including general medical, intermediate, and intensive care units. Our SLPs manage the acute swallow, cognitive, and language and communication needs for our admitted patients as well as covering both inpatient and outpatient video fluoroscopic swallow studies. We have ~70 people in our department including PT, OT, SLP, and rehab Techs.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Speech Therapist assists patients in the restoration or development of swallowing, speech and communication functions through evaluation and treatment.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
Licensure/Certifications:
- State license and National Board Certification Occupational Therapy registration
- Current state driver’s license for those providing Driving Evaluations
- CPR certification within 90 days of hire
Other skills/knowledge:
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the population served
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills work well with others and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other treatment team members when gathering and exchanging patient condition information
- Analytical ability to evaluate patients' Occupational and functional status, establish therapy goals, formulate treatment plans consistent with goals, observe patients and document status, and assist techs and assistants in resolving problems
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous work experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Valid driver's license
