About The Outer Banks Hospital

The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Position Summary

Responsible for assessing, treatment planning and execution of Occupational Therapy treatments. These services are based on the patient/family preferences and the developmental needs, medical conditions and diseases as they affect patient care and recovery. The staff therapist will be responsible for maintaining patient care documentation and adherence to documentation guidelines. The staff therapist shall participate in patient care staffing and assist other team members in understanding the patient problems as related to the patient's occupational performance Supervises Level I & II students. Serves as a resource to Occupational Therapy Assistants and students. Assists other staff and students with policies/procedures and protocols. Assists in providing cost effective care Administers standardized tests and interprets results. Responsible for developing plan of care. Involved with special projects as required for maintenance of level II and is capable of helping with research. Able to serve as mentor to other staff for individual and group treatment/protocol development. Serves as resource regarding in patient care needs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.

Three or greater years and less than 5 years of licensure required.

Registration or Certification required:

North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)

National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
