Physical Therapist - Rehab Residency

PROGRAM OVERVIEWThis twelve-month program combines experiential clinical practice with advanced foundational knowledge and skill-based instruction. This full-time residency experience includes part-time employment for 26 patient care hours per week to provide physical therapy services to adult and pediatric individuals treated through the CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited inpatient and outpatient neurorehabilitation programs of Rochester Regional Health.Neurology & PT Residency OverviewLOCATION: Unity HospitalDEPARTMENT: Golisano RehabSCHEDULE: 26 patient care hours; reminaining schedule is instructional time.ATTRIBUTESPrior Physical Therapy experience preferred Developed leadership skillsPatient focused, with demonstrated care and compassionExceptional communication and documentation skills RESPONSIBILITIESTreatment & Planning. Meet patient goals and needs by providing quality, evidence-based care; assess, develop and implement an individualized treatment plan; help the patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instruct, encourage and assist patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities and daily-living activitiesDischarge Management. Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instruct patients, families and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommend and provide assistive equipment; recommend outpatient or home health follow-up programsLeadership. Develop physical therapy staff by providing information; develop and conduct in-service training programsEDUCATION: DPT: Physical TherapyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: PT - Physical Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)PAY RANGE: $70,700.00 - $108,000.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
