Position Summary:
Provides professional, educational, and clinical skills in organizing and directing physical therapy services and administering treatment programs.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Coordinates all physical therapy and related orthopedic care to ensure appropriate patient treatment.
2. Conducts patient consultation, evaluation, and program planning for all patients.
3. Develops home exercise programs to instruct patients in the required exercise for treatment.
4. Reassesses patient status on an ongoing basis to ensure that treatment goals, plans, and program are appropriate.
5. Communicates effectively with patient/family to ensure knowledge of treatment plan and home exercises.
6. Develops educational programs to increase patient/family and community awareness of physical therapy treatment.
7. Assists in continuing education and orientation or new employees to increase awareness of physical therapy treatments.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Certified by American Physical Therapy Association and
Physical Therapy (PT) by Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners - Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE) required
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy and four years of experience; OR
Master's degree in Physical Therapy and two years of experience; OR
Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy and no experience.
Minimum Experience:
Years of experience varies based on education level.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or over 50 pounds frequently and/or over 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive:
This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
