Responsibilities:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant, School Based serves students with various physical, behavioral, and developmental challenges ranging in age from 3-21 years old.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Implements treatment plans and programs through consistent daily and weekly schedules that focus on functional and measurable outcomes to be shared with the school and/or supervisors.

Implements therapy programming developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist, with a focus on needed functional outcomes.

Delivers specialized individual and group occupational therapy instruction as mandated in students Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Collects data and contributes to reports regarding the students goals and progress, in collaboration with the supervising Occupational Therapist.

Consults with other professionals (Teachers, SLP, PT, PCP, etc.) on the student's treatment team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive therapy team.

Monitors and documents each students progress through observation and informal tests and measurements.

Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.

Monitors the childs response to intervention and modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with the IEP.

Contributes to annual review reports and goals for each student in collaboration with the supervising Occupational Therapist, in accordance with their IEP dates and requirements in order to remain in compliance with state guidelines.

Provides parent and caregiver support and education to discuss the students progress and strategies for continued support outside of school.

Attends and/or contributes (with the supervising Occupational Therapist, when appropriate or requested) to all school related meetings as scheduled, such as, but not limited to, Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domain, Referrals, IEP, and pre-IEP meetings for each individual student.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program according to AOTA & ACOTE standards.

Initial certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.

Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice.

Must have a current CPR Certification.

Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population.

Posted Salary Range: USD $40.00 - USD $45.00 /Hr.
