Macon Occupational Medicine has served Middle Georgia since 2001. Our primary facility encompasses 12,500 square foot and is located in the corner of Third Street and Riverside Drive in historic downtown Macon, Georgia. Macon Occupational Medicine is the premiere occupational and environmental medicine provider in Central and South Georgia. Services are provided from 7:30am until 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday.
Physical Therapist Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of a physical therapist to help patients improve their mobility, function, and overall health
- Restores patients function, alleviates pain, and prevents disabilities by completing the physical therapys treatment plan.
- Provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results.
- Helps patient accomplish treatment plan by administering manual exercises, giving massages, and using equipment as necessary.
- Evaluates and records patients progress
- Documents patient care services by charting records daily.
- Instruct patients in proper exercises and therapies.
- Educate patients about the recovery process and the challenges they may face.
- Administer post offer placement evaluations to determine if a person can perform the physicals demands of a job.
- Work with the case manager as it relates to scheduling and document requirements.
- Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol.
- Willing to work after hours to attend to occupational medicine injuries
- Dispense rehabilitation supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Work Hours
Monday Friday from 8am until 5pm, with one hour lunch break. The lunch break may be reduced based on the needs of the rehabilitation center.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Physical Therapist Assistant Associates degree
- Licensed as a physical therapist assistant
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of three years of physical therapy experience preferred
