Lead Physiotherapist (Paddle UK - Canoe Slalom)
- The English Institute of Sport Ltd
- Valley Lee, Maryland
- Full Time
The Opportunity
The UK Sports Institute and Paddle UK have an exciting opportunity for a full time Physiotherapist.
A snapshot of the role
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced physiotherapist to provide exceptional Physiotherapy services to our Canoe Slalom and Kayak cross disciplines.
The sport of Canoe Slalom is test of speed, agility and precision with all the excitement of white-water rapids. Having set ambitious targets for LA 2028, we see this role as crucial to delivering against our medal targets and wider strategic elements. Our program has a history of winning medals at both World and Olympic level and following the addition of Kayak cross in Paris, this offers an additional opportunity to build on this legacy whilst also developing our understanding in a relatively new discipline.
The successful applicant will provide support services to programme athletes (~20) out of LVWWC. Working collaboratively with wider team, the role will require the successful applicant to proactively establish and deliver relevant strategies which optimise athlete health, minimise time-loss and maximise on water performance. We believe in a supportive environment where we can safely challenge ourselves in the interest of pushing boundaries and achieving world leading performances. Therefore, this candidate will be required to at times, challenge established thinking and contribute to meaningful change by bringing a curious mindset, connecting easily with people and building trust.
In conjunction with other members of the wider performance support team, there is an expectation for the role to go beyond traditional 'injury management' domain and into initiatives aimed at optimising performance and injury-illness mitigation through prehabilitation, travel and life load optimisation. There has never been a more exciting time to be part of the team behind the team.
.If you feel you can bring the expertise we require to help us shape our future, we very much look forward to hearing from you.
