The duties and responsibilities are carried throughout the medical center including all clinical and other pient care areas involved with the service. The audiologist this level plans, conducts, and coordines all aspects of diagnostic evaluion and trement of hearing impairment and/or balance disorders. Major duties include, but are not limited to : Conducts, plans, and coordines all clinical and administrive aspects of a full range of services associed with contemporary audiology scope of practice; Direct pient care involving a full range of audiology evaluion and trement services, including the selection and fitting of hearing aids and other amplificion systems and devices, aural (auditory) rehabilition, tinnitus management, vestibular evaluion, Electrophysiology, Tele-audiology and counseling of hearing-impaired Veterans and their family; Identifies and evalues individuals with hearing disorders in the reception and perception of speech, language and other acoustic signals to a full range of pient complexity; Responsible for conducting compension and pension (C&P) examinions and/or medical opinions (MO) upon request counsel Veterans and their families, and other persons responsible for his/her care, about the nure, degree, and effect of hearing impairment and trement options; Serves as a consultant to other facility personnel involving the most difficult and complex cases and is a recognized subject mter expert; Responsible for supervising, evaluing, mentoring, and precepting student trainees in audiology and maintaining a liaison with affilied colleges and universities through the Audiology and Speech Phology Educion Coordinor; Responsible for the proper maintenance and daily calibrion of the specialized electro-acoustic instrumention; May perform ancillary assignments as directed, including program management duties on an occasional basis, where the complexity and amount of the work is not substantial less than 25% of their time.
