The incumbent is expected to assess, teach and deliver patient care at a proficient level in an efficient manner. Performs a variety of sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders, with high degree of independence as directed by a physician. The incumbent functions as a member of the patient care team scoring, recording and documenting data associated with the monitoring of physiologic responses of patients during sleep. The incumbent delivers patient care in an efficient manner within the scope of the Respiratory Care Practice Act and Valley Children's policies. Disorders related to sleep place children at high risk for physical, developmental and behavioral health problems. Valley Children's Sleep Medicine Program provides expert diagnosis and management for all forms of pediatric sleep disorders. To address this, Valley Children's Sleep Medicine Program uses a multidisciplinary approach to achieve the highest quality care so children experience the best possible sleep. Based on the recommended and ordered sleep testing, the sleep medicine team will educate the patient and family on what to expect during the night of the study and provide any medications, if needed. Bilingual skills preferred. EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: 2- year college degree required. AMA approved respiratory care program required. HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer into position required. RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner required. RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist License OR with less than six (6) months experience within 12 months of hire or transfer into position required.
