Speech Language Pathologist - SLP

We are inviting you to apply for a Speech Language Pathologist position

The Speech Pathologist will plan, organize, develop, and direct Speech Language Services. They will perform assessments and develop a treatment plan for patients that fit their needs.

• Assesses the needs of patients with speech or language disorders and matches their needs with programs available through the educational system
• Meets with patients regularly according to treatment program schedule, evaluates, and maintains records of patients' progress
• Reports progress to therapy staff and meets with them on a regular basis to discuss their evaluations of the patient
• Suggests activities patients can do to supplement their speech therapy program. Attempts to add to their understanding of the program and answers questions and addresses concerns they may have about it
• Repeats evaluations on a regular basis to measure progress according to professional guidelines
• Talks with patients to determine their feelings about the program and their progress or any frustrations they may feel about the therapy
• Recommends and obtains appropriate equipment to improve progress with treatment
• Meets with DOR, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning therapy services
• Participates in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessments, ect. as necessary

• Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate patient's speech
• Skilled in communicating verbally and in writing
• Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the patients
• Professionalism, accuracy, and dependability

• Must possess, as a minimum, a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
• State license as a speech pathologist required
• A minimum of one year of experience working in the speech pathology field preferred
