PHTH 7518 has labs on Mondays from 10:00 am- 4:00 pm from (8/18/25
11/3/25) for 12 weeks. Course description Physiology of Activity course
with therapeutic exercise lab 3 cr. hrs. This course provides an
entry-level understanding of exercise physiology as it relates to
physical therapy interventions, with a focus on applications for special
populations. Lectures cover foundational principles of exercise
physiology, while lab sessions emphasize practical application through
exercise prescription and therapeutic exercise design. Exercises are
introduced by body region, with each lab highlighting key physiological
concepts such as skeletal muscle fatigue, overload, and types of muscle
activation. The course also explores how various special populations
respond to activity and how to tailor exercise prescriptions
accordingly. Duties and Responsibilities Adjunct faculty will assist the
course director by providing hands-on instruction, guidance, and
assessment in the laboratory setting. Responsibilities include: Prepare
for each lab session by reviewing relevant course content and ensuring
readiness to teach therapeutic exercise techniques and principles. Lead
lab sessions providing demonstrations and clinical examples to reinforce
lecture material and promote skill development. Facilitate student
learning by answering questions, offering feedback, and helping students
apply exercise physiology concepts to clinical case examples. Evaluate

DPT with WI PT license Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Outpatient orthopedic and/or sports medicine experience preferred.

clinical experience in the application of therapeutic exercise.
