JOB SUMMARY The Physical Therapy Assistant-Physical Rehab provides physical therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist(s) with treatments and in his/her absence; may perform treatments for a designated period of time. Patient evaluations cannot be performed by the Physical Therapist Assistant. All employees are required to adhere to safe work practices and take active participation in the AWAIR (A Workplace Accident and Injury Reduction) Program as requested. All employees shall actively support and participate in the Quality Improvement Program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education:#See Licensure/Certification/Registration requirement. Experience: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in Minnesota as a Physical Therapy Assistant.#BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network within ninety (90) days of hire. Knowledge of care and use of extensive range of physical therapy equipment. Knowledge of use of heat, cold and motion therapeutically. Knowledge of maintaining patient records. # READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures. SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10#s and 100#s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
