Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide Occupational Therapy assessment, evaluation, and\ntreatment services to forensic psychiatric patients at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center.\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of\nOccupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Occupational\nTherapists.\n\n\nExperience: One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.\n\n\nNote:Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military\nservice experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications or\nTherapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on a\nyear-for-year basis for the required experience.\n\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:\n\n\n Experience working in the mental health setting and/or with individuals with psychiatric conditions\n Experience in working collaboratively with a diverse team of health professionals\n Familiarity with the creation and implementation of therapeutic groups/interventions\n\n\n
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a\ncurrent license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of\nOccupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue,\nBaltimore, MD 21228.\n\n2. Employees in this classification may be required to\nsuccessfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary\nresuscitation training.\n\n3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which\nrequire the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will\nbe required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of\nMaryland.\n\n
