Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for an elementary school setting located in Palmdale, CA. This part-time contract position covers the 2025/26 school year and requires in-person availability. The caseload includes approximately 55 students from kindergarten through 5th grade. Key responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders for students within an academic environment. Proficiency with AAC devices is essential to support students requiring alternative communication methods. The position currently is part-time; however, full-time opportunities may become available later in the summer or fall. Qualifications and experience: Valid SLP certification with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Experience in healthcare, pediatrics, and school settings preferred Familiarity with AAC device technology and strategies Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required for full-time roles; not applicable for part-time at this time Ability to work effectively in-person on campus Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-5) Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality speech-language therapy services tailored to individual student needs Collaborate with educational staff and families to develop effective communication plans Maintain accurate records and comply with school guidelines and policies Utilize AAC devices to enhance communication for eligible students Benefits of this role include working directly with a diverse student population in an educational setting and gaining valuable pediatric school-based experience.
