Respiratory Tech Extern - Occasional- Student in the Respiratory Program Department: RESPIRATORY THERAPY Job Summary A Respiratory Tech Extern is a student currently in the Respiratory program who will perform various tasks to assist with departmental operations. This position provides experience in a clinical setting, supporting the respiratory team while complementing an academic learning program with real-life experience in a clinical respiratory setting. Core Job Responsibilities + Assists respiratory therapists with non-clinical tasks such as equipment preparation, cleaning, and inventory management. + Shadows licensed respiratory therapists to gain practical insights into patient care and procedures. + Maintains and organizes respiratory supplies and ensure proper storage. + Supports administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and scheduling. + Adheres to all safety and confidentiality protocols within the department. + Performs related duties as directed. Education/Experience Requirements REQUIRED: + Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or planning to attend. + High school diploma or equivalent required. + Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. + Strong organization skills and attention to detail. PREFERRED: + Basic knowledge of respiratory equipment and procedures.
