Comments

Collaborates with the Manager of Community Programs to assist with coordinating and instructing adapted recreation programs for children with special needs in the community,

These programs include but are not limited to aquatics, martial arts, camps and various evening recreation activities,

Responsibilities include planning and setup of programs, instructing classes, coordination of volunteers, assisting with registration,

Works closely with foundation to secure grant donation funding and serves as liaison to community to assess needs for additional services,

Job Provides Direction to May supervise students and volunteers,

Section III Job Qualifications Education Training Certification Licensure

Comments

Bachelors degree with a concentration on recreation from an accredited program, with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation Recreational Therapy,

Ability to plan activities and adapt the environment to suit a variety of disabling conditions,

Tact, enthusiasm, initiative, and judgment in performance of duties,

Completion of a pediatric affiliation or work experience with pediatrics,

Working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications and comfort with PC use,

Must have strong time management skills, excellent interpersonal skills to work with a variety of team members and community personnel, and ability to take initiative to explore new opportunities,

Fluency in Spanish is a plus,

NJ State Drivers License,

NCTRC Certification required,

American Heart Association AHA BLS Provider Certification required,

Water Safety Instructor or Aquatics Instructor Certification preferred,
