Piedmont Eastside Therapy Department offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy in the acute hospital on every unit including NICU, ER, and Behavioral Health Units, as well.

Physical therapy is a specialty involving evaluating and treating musculoskeletal system disorders. The goal is to restore the safest functional independence to each individual person. To achieve this goal, physical treatments such as exercise, gait and balance activities, manual therapy techniques, ultrasound, thermotherapy, dry-needling, electrotherapy and neuromuscular re-education are utilized.

Occupational therapists work with individuals of all ages to enhance their functional ability and participation in daily activities. Occupational therapists address orthopedic and neurological conditions affecting the arm and hand and are dedicated to helping patients return to their occupations of self-care, work and leisure activities.

Speech and language assessments utilizing technology and standardized testing to evaluate communication, cognitive, voice and swallowing challenges that result from disability, surgery or developmental disorders.

We also have clinicians that specialize in vestibular disorders, lymphedema, pelvic floor dysfunction, oncology rehab, orthopedic conditions, and more!

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for the reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients which includes dosing variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities including monitoring of all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Performs patient focused care clinical activities throughout the hospital, to provide patients with optimal medication therapy.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Pharmacy.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
N/A

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
