Assist students therapeutically through the use of research based therapeutic practicesProvide individual and small group counseling to students. Provide therapeutic support within the therapeutic classroom and community settingsProvide case management and collaboration to and with families, outside therapists and agencies across school and home environments.Provide consultation to staff to develop and implement classroom strategies and to integrate therapy and other forms of effective therapeutic assistance into other disciplines.Participate in Deeper Learning and Collaborative Problem-Solving programmingWrite professional reports, develop Individual Education Programs (IEP) , maintain data collection and employ research-based best practice strategies to demonstrate student progress and adjust student goalsRecognize the need for and provide assistance to students in an appropriately active milieu settingWork with expert consultants to identify and/or develop effective support systems for students and familiesParticipation in a mentor program that focuses on Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports (PBIS), Social Communication Emotional Regulation Transactional Supports (SCERTS), Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS) and Deeper Learning approaches.Willingness to offer trainings to staff or other community members on topics of interestRemain knowledgeable regarding Abuse and Neglect Reporting as a member of SCEC team and provide training to staffOther duties as required.EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:Participation in mentoring/ training sessions across Collaborative programsOpportunities for job mobility: on-going career counseling; training opportunities; degree/ licensure programs; other professional development opportunitiesPost Job Offer Physical ExaminationSouth Coast Educational Collaborative encourages diverse applicants to apply

Job Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Masters Degree in a designated field (social work, counseling, psychology) from an accredited college or university Appropriate Licensure as School Adjustment Counselor, School Psychologist or eligible for licenses Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR)/First Aid within 30 days of hire and commitment to keep certification currentCertification in Crisis Prevention & Intervention( CPI) within 30 days of hire and commitment to keep certification currentDemonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage a therapeutic and engaging learning environment for students with social/emotional, cognitive, medical and physical challenges and emotional regulation challengesDemonstrated understanding of collaborative problem-solving (CPS) or willingness to learn and adapt itsprinciples and techniques with students, staff and families.Demonstrated ability to work on behalf of students in a collegial and skillful manner with a multidisciplinary team, families, as well as SCEC staff and district employees Ability to use data to inform and guide educational and therapeutic milieu and individual student programmingAbility to develop Individual Education Programs, treatment plans, and varied interventions based on assessment, interests, and objectives of therapyParticipate and complete all DESE mandated yearly trainingsAbility to physically lift up to 39 pounds independentlyThree references or two letters of recommendation are requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree or above in designated field with experience providing service for families and for students with Autism, Developmental Delays, Intellectual Impairment, Medical and Physical Challenges,Emotional/Social Challenges and Trauma.Department of Health licensure inappropriate area i.e. LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, PsyD.Working knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), Social Communication,Emotional Regulation, Transactional Supports (SCERTS) model, Deeper Learning and CollaborativeProblem-Solving (CPS).Experience implementing therapeutic services in a school setting and/or milieu settingExperience in transition planning and implementation for a wide-range of studentsMembership and participation in professional organization which promote continuous professional growth
