**Position Highlights**
**Position Summary:**
Responsible to set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases as ordered by physicians. As a member of the patient-focused care team, the respiratory therapy assistant works collaboratively with a registered respiratory therapist to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care, maintaining the patients confidentiality at all times. In addition, the respiratory therapy assistant performs a range of technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics to comprehensively serve patient needs. Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
**Work Schedule:** PRN- Scheduled as needed approximately 12 hrs./week. Flexible schedules to cover all shifts, weekends, and holidays, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
**Education/Experience:** Some college; currently enrolled in an A.M.A. approved school of Respiratory Therapy
**Licensure/Certification:** Respiratory Care temporary permit through the state of South Dakota upon hire; OR certified respiratory therapist (CRT) from National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) active in the state of South Dakota.
