Position Overview

A Physical Therapist is needed to assist weekly with labs in the Patient/Client Management 1 (PHTH 7503) course in the DPT curriculum. PHTH 7503 has 3 lab sections on Tuesday afternoons: 1PM - 2:50PM, 3PM - 4:50PM, 5PM-650PM.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting the Course Director with teaching and supervising first year physical therapy students' functional mobility skills to include positioning, assisted mobility with lift equipment, bed mobility, transfers and gait. There are also grading responsibilities for practical exams and one assignment during the semester.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Doctorate of Physical Therapy with current WI licensure or eligibility. At least one year of clinical experience in an inpatient setting (acute care, subacute rehab, or inpatient rehab). Must have strong knowledge of functional mobility skills, patient education needs, interpersonal communication, and interprofessional practice.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

At least 3 years of inpatient experience and previous experience working with PT and/or PTA students (as an educator, clinical instructor, or in other roles with direct interactions with students). Experience giving both formal and informal feedback to students as well as performance assessments.
