Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation Services team on a temporary, full-time basis. The therapist will deliver high-quality, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive care to pediatric patients following referral by a licensed independent practitioner. This role includes patient evaluation, direct therapy, patient/family education, and care transition planning. The therapist will work collaboratively with medical staff and a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans that support family-centered care and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Examination & Assessment Perform thorough evaluations, including patient history, systems review, and appropriate testing. Analyze clinical findings to establish a therapy diagnosis and create a targeted intervention plan. Intervention Design and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to pediatric patients with diverse needs. Monitor and adjust interventions based on patient response. Collaborate with families, vendors, and third-party payers to provide necessary equipment or orthotic devices. Fabricate orthotic devices as indicated. Contribute to the development of clinical programs and practice guidelines. Discharge Planning & Coordination Create effective discharge plans in collaboration with families, care management, and community providers (e.g., schools or outpatient clinics). Participate in multidisciplinary care meetings. Documentation & Coding Ensure all documentation meets state, payer, and professional requirements. Document to support medical necessity and skilled intervention, demonstrating progress and outcomes aligned with the treatment plan. This is not an all-inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy (required) Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of practice (required) Current CPR/BLS certification (per hospital policy) Specialty certifications (PCS, OCS, NCS, CHT) preferred, not required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Experience working with children across various levels of care Experience with hand therapy and splinting skills, including use of splinting equipment Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Sensitivity and cultural competence when working with children and families
