ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
The Respiratory Therapy, Assistant cleans, assembles and validates proper function of respiratory therapy medical equipment. This individual orders and maintains par levels for supplies, replenishes portable oxygen supply throughout the hospital. The RT Assistant contributes to the team by remaining open and responsive to the fluctuating demands of the respiratory service.
The ideal candidate is one who is interested in becoming a respiratory therapist. The RT Assistant position provides a good introduction to the equipment and supplies used in the field of respiratory therapy.
QualificationsRequired:
- One year on-the-job experience, with demonstrated proficiency in set up of mechanical equipment required.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
- Computer proficiency (word, excel, outlook) required.
Preferred:
- Experience in set up of hospital equipment preferred.
- Completion of high school or community college level microbiology and physics preferred
- Clinical or medical technical background preferred.
