Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals providing high-quality respiratory care across a diverse patient population. The Respiratory Therapist II (RT II) is responsible for delivering both routine and advanced respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. This role includes assignments in all critical care and intensive care units (excluding SM), and may involve participation in patient transport and ECMO support. The RT II works under the supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, Clinical Specialist, and/or Shift Supervisor, and collaborates closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, including those in critical and intensive care settings.
  • Participate in patient transport, assuming responsibility for advanced respiratory care during intra- and inter-facility transfers, in collaboration with the Transport Nurse (RR only) and under the guidance of the Transport Clinical Specialist and RT leadership.
  • Serve as a Hybrid ECMO Team member, maintaining competency and regularly working shifts as an ECMO Therapist in accordance with established procedures and in collaboration with the RT Education Specialist, CTICU Clinical Specialist, and Perfusion leadership.
  • Maintain and ensure readiness of all respiratory transport equipment and supplies.
  • Perform relief supervisory duties, including daily workload assignments and shift operations.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new staff and provide in-service education on new equipment and techniques.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain effective communication and public relations with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • May be assigned to work in any area of the Health System and required to rotate between day and night shifts.
  • Transport team members must successfully complete a physical agility test to ensure safe job performance.

The salary range is $48.09 /hour - $63.44 /hour

Were seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated Respiratory professional with:

Educational Requirements:

* AA/AS Degree, Graduate of AMA Approved 2-Year Respiratory Therapy Program

* Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or similar- preferred

* Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Licenses/Certifications:

* RCP State License in the state of California

* Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) (American Heart Association only)

* Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)- required for NICU

* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

* Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS)

* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS/ALS) - preferred

* Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) - preferred

Physical Demands:

* Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs.

* Must be able to physically roll a 100-pound, horizontally positioned patient

* Must be able to stand and/or walk 75% of the 12-hour workday

* Must be able to sit, push, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods

* Must have skill in performing routine pulmonary function test

* Must have familiarity and knowledge of handling: Blood Gas Machines, Exercise Systems, and other types of equipment routinely found in pulmonary function laboratory

* Must possess oral and written communication skills sufficient to communicate with colleagues, administrators, patients, visitors, staff, faculty, physicians, and on-site servicemen

Experience:

* 3 years preferred
