A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide essential support within a specialized educational setting in Genoa, IL. This position covers the Summer Extended School Year (ESY) program and extends through the upcoming 2025/2026 school year.
This role offers flexibility for full-time or part-time schedules with caseloads distributed by classroom. An SLP may support 2-4 classrooms, each with up to 10 students ranging from Kindergarten to transition-age (12+). Approximately 60% of the student population has Autism as a primary or secondary disability. Students represent a wide spectrum of communication abilitiesfrom limited or no verbal skills to fluent AAC users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language services tailored to individual student needs across multiple classrooms
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance communication outcomes
- Implement and monitor treatment plans focused on speech, language, and AAC use
- Support students with varied communication abilities including those using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois SLP or SLPA license
- Speech-Language Pathologists must hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois schools through ISBE
- Experience working within pediatric or school settings preferred, especially with students on the autism spectrum
