Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) will work under the direct supervision of a certified or licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) and will be responsible for assisting in the development, planning, organization and implementation of a comprehensive therapy program to meet the needs of students with speech and language impairments. This role includes collaboration with school teams, families, and multidisciplinary support staff to ensure positive student outcomes.
Student Success MetricsAll students receiving speech-language services demonstrate measurable growth toward IEP goals100% of IEPs and student records are compliant with IDEA, FERPA, and Medicaid documentation standards100% of direct services are delivered in accordance with IEP minutes and timelines90% or higher satisfaction among school partners and families regarding communication and service qualityResponsibilities
Assist the SLP in conducting screenings and diagnostic evaluations to determine the need for clinical services.
Adhere to a daily schedule to provide speech-language therapy to students, based on the needs outlined in the IEP.
Collect and summarize student performance data through teacher input, reports, charts, graphs and therapy notes.
Participate in the development of IEPs and attend IEP team meetings to ensure students' needs are being met appropriately.
Maintain a student-centered learning environment that is safe, organized, flexible, inclusive and accommodating to meet the varying needs of students.
Maintain student records, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs), work folders, cumulative folders, health records, and parent correspondence.
Adhere to Network and District policies and procedures related to serving students with disabilities.
Maintain required certifications, participate in professional development sessions, and remain abreast of current educational trends, laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the program supervisor.

Required:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders(CSD) or a related fieldCertificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Department of Health license for Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
Preferred:
Experience in education, childcare, or related field.Experience using a variety of tools, equipment and resources used in speech-language therapyFamiliarity with assistive technology and augmentative communication toolsKnowledge and SkillsDeep understanding of speech language disorders and evidence-based interventionsWorking knowledge of IDEA, FERPA and IEP complianceStrong documentation and data-tracking skillsCommitment to inclusive practices and culturally responsive supportPhysical RequirementsPhysical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing.Lifting Demands: Up to 20 pounds.Reaching Activities: Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.Compensation
