Speech Therapist in Escondido, CA

This position is a contract opportunity for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with CCC or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) eligibility, serving students at an elementary school in Escondido, CA. The role supports a diverse caseload of 46 students in grades TK-5, including those with Speech IEPs and students in moderate/severe SDC settings requiring speech services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver speech-language pathology services tailored to individual student needs.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations.
• Collaborate with educational teams during IEP meetings.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation.
• Support students primarily within on-site settings; this position does not offer teletherapy or hybrid options.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid SLP credential with CCC certification or eligible Clinical Fellowship Year candidate.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in speech therapy settings.
• Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 46 students effectively.
• Bilingual skills are highly valued and may distinguish candidates.
• Comfortable working within a school environment with children in grades TK-5.
• Willingness to supervise and collaborate with Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), as the role may include working alongside an assistant if a fully licensed SLP is not available.

Contract Details:

• Start date: August 5, 2024
• End date: June 12, 2025
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:15 PM (40 hours per week)
• Location: Elementary school in Escondido, CA
