A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the upcoming school year in a K-12 educational setting located in Athens, Alabama. This contract role offers an opportunity to support students communicative development across a diverse grade range while working collaboratively within a dedicated school team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments for students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results
- Provide direct therapy services to address speech, language, fluency, and voice disorders
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies
- Participate in meetings related to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and student interventions
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY)
- Certification or licensure to practice as an SLP in school settings preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational environments is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Knowledge of current best practices in speech-language pathology and educational standards
