Account Rep / Patient Account Balance Specialist
Location: Tigard, OR / Remote
Pay Rate: $19.00 to $22.00
Pay Type: Hourly
Job Type: Full-time 40 hrs./ week
Schedule: Mon-Fri. 7:30AM - 4PM
About the Job
Therapeutic Associates is seeking an Account Rep to handle insurance claim denials and provide support to our Patient Account Balance Specialist.
Incumbents who reside locally may work from home. Initial training, home network outages or special circumstances may require work to be performed at our business office in Tigard, OR.
Responsibilities:
Investigate claim denials by evaluating reimbursement rules, authorization guidelines, patient account information and medical records.
Re-submit corrected claims or appeal as appropriate.
Correct billing, demographic, or posting errors as appropriate.
Respond to clinic staff messages directed to the Account Rep team.
Make outbound calls to help patients to resolve their bill and answer questions about their debt.
Follow company procedures to prepare accounts for third party collections.
Validate HIPAA releases and provide balance information to attorneys.
Requirements:
2 years of experience working health insurance claim denials and/or medical customer service.
Must be comfortable speaking with patients regarding balances and have strong communication skills.
Must be comfortable navigating multiple computer applications, various online insurance and company portals.
High school diploma required. Some college preferred.
