Responsibilities
Assists in daily clinic operations including:
Managing arrival/departure and scheduling follow up appointments.
Assists in contacting patients from telephone encounters to cancel/reschedule.
Patient paperwork preparation for new patients as well as re-evaluation patients.
Ensures completion of patient appointment tracking for discharges.
Consultation with other departments as directed by the Physical Therapists to facilitate patient care.
Implements selected components of patient/client interventions (treatment), obtains data related to the interventions provided, and makes modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort.
Instructs/educates patient in treatment procedures to be performed between visits and after discharge.
Documents the patient history, diagnostic findings and treatment in the patient's Electronic Medical Records as well as preparation for appointment, adjustment of exercise log and HEP.
Provides in-service training and consultation to students, physical therapist, medical personnel, athletic trainers and other specialty providers.
Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures in the Physical Therapy department.
Trains and supervises OPS technicians and student auxiliary interns.
Oversees tech/interns completion of day-to-day processes and procedures.
Conducts student outreach to gather volunteer interest.
Coordinates the new hire process for OPS technicians and student auxiliary interns.
Creates and revises training manuals and forms.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
