Position Type: Student Support Services/Speech and Language Pathologist Date Posted: 6/26/2025 Location: Georgetown-Ridge Farm CUSD 4 (High-Needs School) District: Georgetown-Ridge Farm Community Unit School District 4 SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST DEFINITION Under general supervision, serves as a member of the Individual Education Program Planning Team and participates in decisions regarding placement of exceptional students and appraises receptive and expressive language functioning of an individual student. REPORTS TO Building Administrator ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct formal and informal diagnostic evaluations of all children demonstrating a suspected speech and/or language deficit and develop written narrative of findings Accurately interpret test results and observations Participate on multi-disciplinary team to determine eligibility for speech/language services Accurately complete Eligibility and IEP paperwork according to established requirements. Develop and monitor IEPs for students on caseload. Facilitate IEP meetings as needed Conduct individual and/or group therapy sessions for identified children Monitor student progress on a regular basis. Structure sessions to maximize time spent working on therapy goals Assess assistive and augmentative communication needs, make recommendations for communicative devices, and maintain upkeep of devices Recommends to support staff, classroom teachers, parents and district personnel appropriate diagnostic/instructional services for individuals having communicative disorders. Directs clinical rehabilitative and educational management for individuals with disorders of language and speech. Provides consultant, resource, and supervisory services in program and curriculum planning, research, and program evaluation for special language projects within the school and at the district level. Plans with teachers and other staff members for implementation of instructional strategies to meet the needs of an individual with a communicative disorder. Consults with parents (or guardians) and member of related disciplines, including outside agencies regarding the needs of an individual with a communicative disorder. Develops specialized in-service programs for school and community personnel. Develops parent education programs and individual or group counseling to assist parents in the prevention and/or remediation of communicative disorders when appropriate. Participates in professional growth activities at the local, state and national levels. Provide professional support to Clinical Fellowship Year Speech Language Pathologists and Speech Language Pathologist Interns. Maintains cooperative working relationships within the workplace. Supervises and assists students during arrival, dismissal, and lunch. Maintains confidentiality. Other duties in the scope of this position. Credential - Valid Illinois license and endorsement authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned. Education - Master's degree including all courses to meet credential requirements. Experience - Internship or full-time teaching experience.
