General Info Job Title Speech Language Pathologist Department Therapy EEOC Class Supervisor Therapy Manager FLSA Status Overview Position Summary Therapy is provided in an outpatient clinical setting (ages 0 - 15 years) and within early intervention classrooms (ages 18-36 months) to children with a variety of diagnoses. Responsible for evaluation and ongoing services. Organization Description United Services for Children is a nonprofit organization that provides pediatric therapy and early intervention services to children of all abilities and offers support services for their families. We focus on children ages birth through 15 years old. Our center is located at 3420 Harry S Truman Blvd. St Charles, MO, serving approximately 300 children annually. Working Conditions Working conditions are in a classroom and office environment. Must be able to: Access and maneuver independently between classrooms and offices Converse in person and via the telephone Visually, orally, and physical observe and respond to the physical/emotional needs or behaviors of children Handle and manipulate objects such as buttons, fasteners, or diaper tabs Be able to reach up to 18 inches horizontally and vertically Readily attain various positions to work with children Balance, bend, stoop, or squat to retrieve items from the floor Sit at a table/desk for a minimum of one hour Safely lift, carry, or move 10 lbs. consistently and up to 45 lbs. occasionally Be able to push and pull up to 25 lbs. frequently Requirements Responsibilities The SLP must: Provide a variety of specific and appropriate screenings and evaluations. Record and evaluate findings to establish or revise treatment plans using an electronic medical record (Clinic Source) Plan and provide speech language interventions in accordance with a designated treatment plan developed from the evaluation procedure. Maintain accurate data collection and session documentation (SOAP notes) Review pertinent medical history to aid in performing treatment procedures and ensure compliance with all safety precautions Comply with HIPAA guidelines Provide speech and language services integrated into the early intervention classroom setting. Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and other professionals Follow through with collaborative recommendations and processes Provide supportive services to clients and their families for maximum participation and consistency in therapy procedures Train, supervise, and evaluate clinical students as assigned Provide in-service training to agency personnel in areas of expertise Complete all required documentation per agency and health provider guidelines Always model a standard of behavior consistent with agency expectations Other duties may be assigned. Education Qualifications Must have a valid Missouri state license and ASHA certification
