The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Performs clinical diagnostic audiologic evaluations including VRA, BOA, play audiometry, ABR, OAE and Central Auditory Processing testing to evaluate hearing status,
Generates formal report on audiologic findings including recommendations,
interacts with family, other professional staff and outside referral sources in the provision of audiologic services,
follows hospital wide policies,
Essential Job Functions
Performs audiological evaluations and obtains reliable and accurate results modifies and adapts evaluation procedures according to patient capabilities,
Effectively communicates evaluation results and recommendations in both written and verbal form to parents, caregivers and other staff members as necessary,
Familiar with the operation of all audiologic equipment on site, and effectively troubleshoots when necessary,
Communicates with supervisor when necessary regarding equipment concerns or operational issues,
Meets documentation requirements to keep in compliance with JCAHO and PSB guidelines,
Follows all hospital policies regarding attendance, generic competencies etc,
Communicates in job specific concerns and participates in developing solutions,
Participates in projects for the department that are consistent with the departmental and hospital goals and mission,
Provides inservice training to staff and community as requested, after authorization from the supervisor,
Meets minimum annual expected volumes
Formal Education and Job Related Experience
Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, objectives and techniques employed in the diagnosis and management of hearing disorders,
Ability to interface effectively with patients and families, and provide interdisciplinary collaboration,
Excellent English communications skills, with and extra language beneficial,
Certification
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology CCC A issue by the American Speech Language Hearing Association,
AHA BLS Provider Certification required,
License
Current New Jersey State Audiology License
Education and Experience Additional Comments
Masters Degree in Audiology or a Doctoral degree in Audiology,
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in audiology with a pediatric population,
