This position offers a unique opportunity to provide physical therapy services within a K-12 educational setting, supporting students aged 8 to 21 years across two school sites. The role focuses on delivering individualized, goal-oriented therapy to students with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Seizure Disorders, Genetic Syndromes, Metabolic Disorders, and Dual Diagnoses. Additionally, the caseload includes students preparing for vocational transitions at age 22 within a strong, behaviorally based program rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized physical therapy plans aligned with IEP goals.
- Deliver direct therapy services and provide consultative support across multiple school environments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including educators, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and vocational support staff.
- Support students functional mobility, safety, and independence in both academic and vocational settings.
- Accurately document services and student progress following school and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Physical Therapy license or eligibility to obtain prior to start.
- Experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Location and Schedule:
- Based in Hamden, CT, serving two school sites.
- Full school days, MondayFriday, up to 40 hours/week; part-time applicants considered.
- Contract duration from August 8, 2025, to June 12, 2026.
