Summary
Provides care to all patient populations for therapeutic purposes. Provides bedside diagnostic procedures as needed. Reviews and maintains respiratory care plans. Performs evaluations on patients and adjusts the care appropriately. Assists as a preceptor for students and new hires.
Education
Must be a graduate of a respiratory therapy program.
Licensure/Certification
Must obtain entry level certification and must have a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC. Must have a current State license for Respiratory Care Practitioners for the State where services will be provided. Must have current certification in CPR. Must have ACLS, PALs, and NRP certifications or obtain within six months from the date of hire or transfer (NRP and PALs are not required for those who work in Pulmonary Rehab and do not float to the inpatient areas; NRP is not required for PRMC unless the RT works PICU or NICU). Stable preferred but not required.

Must be able to be on call. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
