Summary:

Vighter is recruiting dedicated and compassionate Audiologist to join our healthcare team at the Baton Rouge Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic, 7968 Essen Park Avenue, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70809. The successful candidate The Audiologist will provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic audiology services to veterans at the VA Medical Center. The Audiologist's primary role is to evaluate, diagnose and treat hearing, balance, and related auditory disorders in veterans, ensuring the highest standard of care. Services include both in-clinic care and telehealth consultations as needed. The standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding all currently recognized national standards.

Principle Accountabilities:

Comprehensive audiometric evaluations and diagnostic testing for hearing and balance disorders.

Hearing aid evaluations, fittings, programming, and maintenance.

Counseling veterans on hearing loss prevention, auditory rehabilitation, and communication strategies.

Coordinating and conducting tele-audiology services as necessary.

Maintaining compliance with VA policies and federal healthcare delivery and patient safety regulations. Diagnostic Evaluations: Hearing evaluations are performed using audiometers, impedance bridges, otoacoustic emissions (OAE), and auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing to diagnose hearing and balance disorders.

Hearing Aid Services: Administer hearing aid consultations, fittings, and programming using evidence-based practices. Educate on proper device usage and maintenance.

Rehabilitation Services: Develop and implement individualized auditory rehabilitation plans, including providing veterans with aural rehabilitation training, assistive listening devices, and communication strategies.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with VA policies and federal regulations, ensuring timely entry into electronic health records (EHR).

Implement treatment plans that meet the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and Veterans Health Administration (VHA) guidelines.

Education:

Degree as a Doctor of Audiology (Au. D.)

Current Audiologist licensure in the state of Louisiana.

A Doctor of Audiology (Au. D.) degree from an accredited institution.

Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (AS HA) or equivalent.

National Provider Identifier (NPI): NPI is a standard, unique 10-digit numeric identifier required by HIPAA. The Veterans Health Administration must use NPIs in all HIPAA-standard electronic transactions for individual (health care practitioners) and organizational entities (medical facilities). The Contractor shall have or obtain appropriate NPI and, if pertinent the Taxonomy Code confirmation notice issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) be provided to the Contracting Officer with the proposal.
