Occupational Therapist Needed Foster Functional Skills in Utica Schools

Utica Community Schools is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in building essential motor and adaptive skills that empower them to succeed in school. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, student-focused team.

Position Overview:
As a school-based OT, you will assess student strengths and needs, create tailored treatment plans, and deliver therapy that enhances independence and participation across learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete occupational therapy assessments and document findings

• Develop and implement IEP-aligned intervention plans

• Address fine motor coordination, sensory processing, and self-care skills

• Consult with teachers, staff, and families to support student goals

• Attend IEP meetings and contribute recommendations and progress updates

• Maintain compliance documentation and accurate therapy records

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

• Active Michigan Occupational Therapy License

• Michigan Department of Education Certification for school-based practice

• Experience in school or pediatric settings preferred

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Job Details:

• Type: Full-time, onsite

• Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours

• Caseload: K12 students (assignments set by the district)
