Occupational Therapist Role Support Student Growth in Paterson Schools

Paterson Public School District is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to help students develop functional skills essential for classroom participation and independence. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a collaborative team dedicated to student success.

Position Overview:
As an OT, you will assess student needs, develop individualized plans, and deliver therapy to support fine motor skills, self-care, and sensory processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and prepare clear reports

• Develop and implement intervention plans aligned with IEP goals

• Address fine motor coordination, sensory integration, and adaptive skills

• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families

• Attend IEP meetings and document services in compliance with regulations

• Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

• Active New Jersey OT License

• NJ DOE Educational Services Certificate (OT Endorsement)

• Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred

• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Job Details:

• Type: Full-time, onsite

• Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours

• Caseload: K12 students (assignments determined by the district)
