Description
- Evaluate patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that address short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Provide one-on-one speech therapy interventions focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to create cohesive care strategies.
- Offer patient and family education to support progress outside of clinical sessions.
- Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring continuity of care throughout the treatment journey.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation aligned with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Stay current with advances in the field through continuing education and peer collaboration.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment.

- Proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches for all ages, with a strong understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
