Speech Therapist Opportunity Join Akron City Schools Full-Time

Akron City Schools is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide therapy and assessment services that help students build strong communication skills for academic and social success. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, student-focused environment.

Position Overview:
As an SLP, you will assess student needs, develop individualized therapy plans, and deliver interventions that support speech, language, and social communication development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and draft clear reports

• Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with IEP goals

• Address articulation, fluency, expressive/receptive language, and pragmatic skills

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to encourage progress

• Attend IEP meetings and provide updates and recommendations

• Maintain compliance records per state and district requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology

• Active Ohio SLP License

• Ohio Department of Education Certification for School-Based SLPs

• ASHA CCC strongly preferred

• Prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred

• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Job Details:

• Type: Full-time, onsite

• Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours

• Caseload: K12 students (assignments determined by district needs)
