Akron City Schools is hiring a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide therapy and assessment services that help students build strong communication skills for academic and social success. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, student-focused environment.
Position Overview:
As an SLP, you will assess student needs, develop individualized therapy plans, and deliver interventions that support speech, language, and social communication development.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and draft clear reports
Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
Address articulation, fluency, expressive/receptive language, and pragmatic skills
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to encourage progress
Attend IEP meetings and provide updates and recommendations
Maintain compliance records per state and district requirements
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Active Ohio SLP License
Ohio Department of Education Certification for School-Based SLPs
ASHA CCC strongly preferred
Prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred
Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Job Details:
Type: Full-time, onsite
Schedule: MondayFriday during school hours
Caseload: K12 students (assignments determined by district needs)
