    JOB TITLE: Speech Pathologist

    The following duties will be performed in the Mandarin and English languages:
    1. Evaluate, assess, and treat students with communication disorders.
    2. Provide individual, small group, and whole class speech therapy treatment sessions to students in a self-contained autism support classroom.
    3. Write Evaluation reports and individualized treatment goals. Evaluate students across school district for autism and write evaluation report in collaboration with school psychologist. Present at Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Maintain detailed records for each student.
    4. Facilitate functional communication through the use of a variety of augmentative and alternative communication strategies, including low-tech and high-tech. Use speech-generating devices with multiple vocabulary systems including LAMP Words for Life and TouchChat HD.
    5. Collaborate with the autism support team during weekly team meetings to discuss communication techniques and strategies to promote carryover of skills across settings.
    6. Assist with communication exchange between homeroom teacher, speech-language pathologist, and parents by interpreting English and Mandarin during parent-teacher meetings and IEP meetings.
    7. Choose appropriate activities for developing the students speech, voice, fluency, and language skills.
    8. Instruct parents/guardians in activities to implement at home and use specialized equipment.
    9. Consult with physicians and other agencies as necessary and assist with referring students to appropriate specialists.
    10. Adhere to legal and ethical standards and guidelines regarding the provision of speech/language services

    Minimum Education: Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology
    Special Requirements: Ability to speak, read, and write Mandarin, and English; State of Delaware Speech/Language Pathologist Professional License, or the ability to obtain.
    Certificate for Autism Diagnostic Observation Clinical Training, or the ability to obtain.
    Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or the ability to obtain.

    Travel to anticipated and unanticipated locations up to 10% of the time within U.S. school district.
