Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Radiology Director, the Speech Language Pathologistis responsible for the provision of speech therapy services in the acute care, outpatient, andSkilled Nursing setting.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Has earned a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology.Obtain and maintain continuing education requirements inaccordance with state guidelines.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Recommend minimum 1 year hospital experience includingmodified barium swallow studies.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have Certificate of Clinical Competence and State of TexasLicense to practice Speech-Language Pathology. Basic LifeSupport certification through the American Heart Associationrequired. Valid Drivers license and reliable transportationnecessary as driving between campuses is required.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
The Speech Language Pathologist must be able to diagnose, treatand provide management services to patients with communicationdisorders including speech, language, voice, fluency and literacydifficulties or patients with physical problems with eating orswallowing.
