Salary: Wages start at $45.26 an hour and the midpoint is $56.58 an hour. Increases are based years of experience in the field.

The Specialty Occupational Therapist provides specialty therapy services to particular populations of patients. Acts as lead therapist/specialist for one or more specialty programs by mentoring other therapists, providing input into program development, and marketing the program. Individuals may be assigned permanently, temporarily or simultaneously to other worksites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs effective, appropriate and timely patient evaluation and care planning.
  • Performs effective patient caregiver training.
  • Documentation is timely, legible and complete.

Position Qualifications

Experience

  • 2 years prior relevant Occupational Therapy experience in a hospital, home care, outpatient, or skilled nursing setting required.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy is required
  • Completion of the American Occupational Therapy National Exam required

Certification/Licensure

  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start
  • ODL: Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past 10 years and proof of insurance may be required
  • LT: Lymphedema Certification from a program with 135 hours of instruction that meets LANA (Lymphology Association of America) requirements including certification from the following: Klose Training, Norton School, and Academy of Lymphatic Studies is required
