The role you'll contribute:

Supervises all aspects of Respiratory Therapy in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines to assure the highest degree of quality care is rendered at all times. Along with their leader, is responsible for staffing and scheduling to provide adequate coverage for the provision of care for all patients with pulmonary needs. Develops strong relationships with physicians and other referral sources. The Respiratory Team Lead ensures compliance with established pulmonary programs. Maintains open and ongoing communications with their leader to ensure patient, staff, and facility needs are met. The philosophy that ongoing clinical competence requires regular clinical practice is upheld, and the respiratory team leader will take patient assignments as situations warrant, including assisting Physicians with Bronchoscopies, patient transports, and monitoring of documentation. Responsible for the effective and optimal administration of modalities based on assessment and evaluation and provides recommendations and/or changes to care based on patients' current status. Activities include leading all department meetings, staff scheduling, provision of direct patient care, and facilitating day-to-day clinical operations centered on staffing, problem resolution, monitoring processes, and promoting effective communication to all disciplines. Staff development and improvement of clinical skills for the clinical team are also priorities. The expectation for the Team Lead is to act as an Ambassador to patients and families for better patient outcomes and satisfaction, oversee the revenue cycle and charges, process improvement department program, and act as the department safety officer. They will also maintain PFT levels and certification of ABG machines. The Team Lead oversees the education process (BLS, Smoking Cessation), assists with new employee and yearly education competencies, and is knowledgeable in providing and evaluating routine as well as critical care modes of respiratory care. This position is a full-time day shift position, with occasional weekends required as the clinical situation warrants.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Minimum of 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Florida License
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential from the NBRC
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS)
