SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Director and Associate Dean of the School of Rehabilitation Sciences

POSITION SUMMARY: Twelve-month, full time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate professor position. Primary teaching will occur in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) curriculum. The majority of teaching will be in-person, on-campus. Administrative responsibilities as Assistant/Associate Program Director include supporting the success of the DPT program. Additional responsibilities include mentoring graduate research, maintaining a scholarly agenda, and actively engaging in School, College, and University-level service, with opportunities to teach in the undergraduate health sciences program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach in the DPT program, based on content expertise.

Course development/course revision (as needed).

Demonstrate and promote inclusive teaching practices to support diverse learners in a way that contributes to student success and promotes equity in opportunities for achievement.

Coordination of curriculum in the individual's area(s) of expertise.

DPT Student advising.

Maintain active scholarship agenda.

Service to the DPT program, School, College, University, profession, and community

Collaborate in team-teaching within the program(s), participate in interprofessional education across the School and College, and assist in all aspects of program design, development, implementation, assessment, and administration.

Opportunity to teach in the undergraduate Health Science major.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and lead student success programming to assure successful graduation and success on board examinations.

Monitor student progression within the program, including overseeing student retention, academic probation, and academic dismissal.

Assist Program Director with:

Leading regular meetings of program faculty to conduct the business of the program, as well as communicate information from the School Dean / Associate Dean and College Dean.

Student recruitment and admissions.

Adjunct faculty recruitment, evaluation, and mentoring.

Supporting program accreditation efforts.

Supporting programmatic curricular quality, effectiveness, currency, and revision.

Collaborating with various offices on campus as necessary for program success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Earned academic doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, DSc, DHS).

Individuals who are actively enrolled in an academic doctoral degree program will be considered.

At least three years academic teaching experience required, six or more years preferred.

Physical therapist license (current Pennsylvania license or eligible for PA licensure as a physical therapist required).

Program administration experience preferred.

Evidence of successful teaching experience at the college level.

Evidence of an established scholarly agenda.
