Speech Therapist Specialist

The nationally recognized Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, Department of Orthopaedics, Division of Physical Therapy, is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated full time Speech Therapist to join our team as a full-time faculty member. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about academic medicine and patient care excellence.

Position Highlights:

Provide specialized care to patients in our outpatient clinics, focusing on treating neurology/neurodegenerative patients

No nights, calls, or weekends required.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences/Disorders (required)

Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist

Demonstrated ability to assess and treat a wide range of language and communication disorders

Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices

Proficient in diagnosing and treating aphasia and performing swallow studies

Proven ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

Commitment to growing and supporting a comprehensive speech and swallow program across multiple medical specialties

Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with providers across various departments

Previous leadership experience in a clinical or programmatic setting (required)
